Transfer Box Repairs – Faversham

A transfer box is a key component in four-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive vehicles, responsible for splitting power between the front and rear axles.

It works alongside the gearbox to deliver traction where it’s needed, ensuring confident handling in wet, icy, or off-road conditions.  Inside the unit are gears, chains, bearings, and an actuator or clutch system that work together to distribute torque smoothly and efficiently.

A transfer box issue can cause juddering, binding, slipping, dashboard warnings, or unusual noises.  At The Gearbox Centre Kent in Faversham, we specialise in diagnosing and repairing transfer boxes for drivers throughout Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and Middlesex.  Our technicians work on part-time and full-time AWD systems, identifying problems such as worn bearings, chain stretch, gear damage, fluid contamination, or electronic actuator faults.  Using advanced diagnostic tools, we determine whether the fault is mechanical, electronic, or both.

Each transfer box is removed, cleaned, and inspected before worn components are replaced.  We correct clearances, renew seals, and refill with the correct specification fluid before testing the system both statically and on the road.

If your vehicle is struggling with odd noises, clunks, or drivetrain vibration, early repair is essential to avoid further damage. The Gearbox Centre Kent in Faversham delivers accurate, long-lasting transfer box repairs with transparent pricing and professional results.
